Everyone one wants to live in stress-free life. Stress is a term that is used to describe external happenings that put demands on you as well as the internal responses they elicit. It is likely that at some point in your life, you have had to deal with stress. It could have been personal or work related.

Different people have different ways of dealing with stress. However, relaxation is the most common method of dealing with stress.

The following are some of the other effective ways to your stress-free living:

1. Talking about it

The best and most effective way of dealing with stress is talking about it. One of the major reasons why a lot of people suffer from stress and stress related illnesses such as hypertension is because they keep things bottled up.

If something is stressing you, the best way of dealing with it is talking about it with someone close to you. It could be a friend, sibling, or partner. Discussing your problems with another individual lightens the load. It enables you to see the situation more objectively. Hence, you are able to come up with a way to resolve it. If you believe in God, then prayer also will help to unload your stress.

2. Laughing.

You could also laugh the stress off. Laughter is said to be the finest remedy. In addition to encouraging social bonding, it is also an excellent healer.

3. Exercising.

Exercising is another way of dealing with stress. Exercising helps your body burn up the energy that may be generating the stress. Research has shown that a few minutes of exercise each day help raise the heart rate that in turn helps lower anxiety and depression.

Exercise also helps you take your mind off what is bothering you at that particular moment. It is safe to say that you will not be thinking of the client that annoyed you when you are engrossed in your yoga or Pilates exercises.

4. Thinking positively.

Another way of dealing with stress is thinking positive. You are bound to be stressed if you are the type of person that always sees the glass as being half empty or that does not see the good in anything. Learn to be an optimist. Additionally, avoid self-doubt and seeking approval from others, as it will only erode your self-esteem thereby causing stress.
Relax and be yourself.

When dealing with stress, it is also important that you are kind to yourself. On those days you are feeling stressed, take some time out and offer yourself some emotional and physical support. Try to do meditation for 5 minutes in some quiet place.

5. Reward yourself.

Buy your favorite meal. Read a self-help book or get a massage. You could even go for a short walk. It does not have to be extreme, just something that will help take your mind away from whatever may be bothering you.
